Hello Brisbane Sourdough Pan Skitchen family! We all know how tricky it can be to keep our little ones entertained during the school holidays. But guess what? We’ve got a delicious treat for you, and the best part is, it’s easy enough for the kids to be hands-on in making it. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just looking to whip up something quick, our choc chip and banana jumbo pancake is a guaranteed hit. So, grab those aprons and let’s dive into some culinary fun!

Why We Love It:

  • Super easy and fun for kids to participate in.
  • Uses basic ingredients you most likely already have in your pantry.
  • The Brisbane Sourdough Pan ensures even baking and an irresistible crust.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack pancake shake mix
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • ⅓ cup choc chips
  • Maple syrup for that sweet touch
  • Vanilla ice cream for a creamy finish

Here’s How to Make It:

1. First, set your oven to preheat at 180°C. Grab your Brisbane Sourdough Pan and line the base with non-stick baking paper. If you’ve been struggling to get that paper to sit right, here’s a handy tip: scrunch it up into a ball and then straighten it out – it’ll sit perfectly in your pan!

2. Go ahead and prepare the pancake mix following the instructions on the package. Once done, let it sit for about 5 minutes. This waiting time is a great moment to get the kids involved, maybe let them peel and slice the banana.

3. Now, pour that rested pancake mix into your pan. It’s decorating time! Let the kids sprinkle the choc chips and arrange the banana slices creatively.

4. A drizzle of maple syrup over the top will add that extra touch of sweetness and shine.

5. Pop the pan into the oven and let it bake for about 30 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when the edges are golden brown and the center is set.

6. After baking, patience is the key. Let it cool in the pan for around 10 minutes. When it’s time, hold the edges of the baking paper and lift the jumbo pancake out.

7. Cut it into your desired portions, drizzle with some more maple syrup, and serve with a scoop (or two!) of vanilla ice cream.

Voila! There you have it. A simple yet scrumptious treat the whole family can enjoy. Whether it’s for breakfast, dessert, or a snack, our choc chip and banana jumbo pancake is bound to become a holiday favorite.

Happy baking and enjoy your school holidays with the kids! Let’s see those delightful creations.
